Chile 2007 1st Annual BBQ

Lenne Estate has 1st Annual BBQ for the Rootstock club members

Steve and Karen Lutz put on a great time for those that have been smart enough to join the Lenne Estate Rootstock club (the wine club).  On August 18th, Steve opened up the tasting room at 5:00pm for those that wanted to enjoy the hospitality of the vineyard.  Steve & Karen were ready, but more showed up than they expected, so it was a good thing that Jim and I went out to help out if we could.  We really went out to enjoy the time, but we told Steve to put us to work if he needed us and I think they did.  Jim even helped out on the BBQ :)  Steve wrote it up on his Blog (read "and it didn't rain" posted Aug 21, 2007) and even mentioned Jim's help.  The food was excellent, the wine was superb (and lots of it), and the club members were enjoying every minute of it.
members were already enjoying some wine out on the terrace at the tasting room Had to show you the color coming through on the grapes (véraison French A stage in the ripening process of grapes. [Called veraison in English from the French word.])
Bob is behind the counter chatting with the members and pouring wine as they taste through the available wines for the evening Grab a table, it was standing room only :)  Seated at the table looking directly at the camera are Dr. Fred Benoit and his wife Mary, they use to own Chateau Benoit (now called Anne Amie).  They hired Steve originally and they are great friends.
Steve doing his thing, chatting with the members and keeping them informed of the Lenne news this picture was taken from the rooms above the tasting room looking down through the big windows.  It had started to sprinkle a little, so people put up their umbrellas.
This is what it is truly about, the vineyard, without it, there would be no wine :)  Steve does a great job of farming it. Steve chatting more after the meal; pouring a little more wine

I love this picture, the sun has fully set, the lights are on and people are still enjoying themselves.  That is what it is all about, this is a great life!

If you haven't been out to taste the wines, you should, if you want to join a great wine club, you should join Rootstock. Steve Lutz is our Vigneron (winemaker and vineyard manager/farmer) and does a wonderful job for both our wine and finding other great wines to share with members and customers.  I don't think you will ever be disappointed with any wines that you would receive via the Rootstock club.
