it's a time for giving thanks... |
|
| and Jim and I always have things to be thankful for!
Our family, our friends, our health, our lifestyle and I thank Jim
for still working so that I can still shop! :) More work on the house, the kids from San Antonio visiting and attending the Renaissance Fair were some of the things that happened in November... My camera quit working on me early in the month, so I had to order another one just like it (of course) but I didn't do it for a couple of weeks, so I had to use a throw away camera for a little bit. The pictures are not as good, so please forgive me. I now have three of everything for my camera, but only 1 working camera!

| Here is Jim and the kids, they came down to visit. The grandkids stayed with us while Mike and Celi went and spent the day at the Renaissance Fair.

King Henry the VIII and his lovely wife Elizabeth (before Ann). |
| Ah, the
Renaissance
Fair! Jim and I went two different times, the Highland
Fling (Scottish flavor) and the Celtic Christmas weekends.
Mike and Celi went on the Fiesta de Espana weekend. There are
8 different themes so I am going to have to check them all out over
the next few years! We had a great time, especially people
watching! One of the big things was for the spectators to
dress up in costume too, you couldn't tell who was part of the show
and who was there to show off :)

| This is the band called Tartanic, they were high energy Scottish musicians, I loved listening to them! | This is Mary Boleyn, sister to Ann (who married Henry the VIII and then was beheaded). I am related to the "real" Mary through my mother's side of the family. Had to take a picture of my "Aunt". :)

| Here's Jim with a couple of serving wenches and the bar keep. This was from one of the pub's at the fair. All the wenches had various items stuck between the breasts, in this case, one had a bottle opener and the other had a flower I think...
|
This is a picture of me and Ann Boleyn (before being married to Henry, so she still had her head ;) It was fun to chat with the actors, and yes, both Mary and Ann were part of the English court. |

| Had to get another shot from the 2nd weekend we were there with Ann, this time Jim joined us for the picture. | Here is a group of dressed up people, I couldn't tell you whether they were just spectators that were dressed up or actors as part of the shows! The costumes were from wonderful to outrageous!

| Here is one of the outrageous costumes, she was a spectator that liked to dress the part. There were court people, pirates, fairies, wenches, you name it, you would find them! | This is the dining/kitchen area all cleaned up and ready to go prior to Thanksgiving and the beginning of the Christmas season. It hardly ever looks this nice for some reason, so I needed a picture to remember what it could look like.

| Thanksgiving was a busy time in more ways than one.
A group of us got together at our house for Thanksgiving dinner,
there was a total of 8 of us and of course, I over did it
Everyone pitched in, they brought a few dishes etc, boy did we have
the food!
A friend of ours also got married in the Portland, OR area, the day after Thanksgiving. We were sorry to miss the celebration, but I am sure they understood. Congratulations Beth and Steve Comfort! Last, but definitely not least, the vineyard that we are partners in finally opened up. Lenne Estate was part of the annual Thanksgiving Wine Tasting event in the Willamette Valley. I can't wait to see it for myself in 2007!

| Thanksgiving appetizers, they were just yummy! Look closely, the meat tray is in the shape of a snowflake :) | Sitting around the table chatting, enjoying adult beverages and eating too many appetizers before the main meal!

| Getting serious about Thanksgiving dinner now, the table was loaded with good friends and good food. | This is a picture of Beth and Steve that I snuck off of their wedding album web page, I hope they don't mind, just don't tell them :)

| Steve Lutz is on the far right, he is the major owner of Lenne Estate, Jerry is helping him to pour to some wine to the first guests of the Lenne tasting room. | The finished exterior of the Lenne tasting room with a few guests enjoying a sip of the first release LeNez wine, 2004 Pinot Noir. I just happen to have a few bottles and it is pretty darn yummy!
|
| It's time to start to get into the Christmas spirit,
the weekend after Thanksgiving was spent decorating the outside and
inside of the house. I so enjoy this time of the year and
darn, I had this whole house that needed decorating with nothing to
decorate with! Carol Dryton was kind enough to go on several
shopping trips with me to find just the right treasures to decorate
with. My theme, if you could call it that, ended up being
snowmen, snowflakes and poinsettias.

| The Christmas tree all decorated and ready for presents, I think we did add a few more decorations after this picture was taken... | More decorations for the table, the living room and though you can not see it in this picture, even up on top of the kitchen cabinets!
|
| November was a great month of spending time with
friends here in Livingston. We truly missed our other family
and friends that we were not able to see but you just never know
when we will show up on your doorstep! Jim and Kim |
