Around New York City Hudson Valley NY Wine More NY Wine Long Island Wine Philly History Gettysburg Brandywine Trail

Did I fool ya?  You might have thought it was all about hiking...

well, if you call hiking "walking from the car to the tasting room", then I guess you can call it hiking.  This is all about wine tasting in our 20th state, Pennsylvania.  Only 30 more to go :)  There are a couple of actual hiking trails called Brandywine, but I will have to disappoint you, we did the wine trail.

We did try one other winery just outside of Gettysburg, Adams County Winery.  It is part of the Uncork York Wine Trail.

Our real focus is on the Brandywine Trail...

Brandywine Trail

Lots of vines at Adams County Winery The tasting room for Adams, the poor gal that was pouring for us was very new and didn't know much.
Apples just waiting to be picked down the road from the winery.  We saw LOTS of apples in both NY and PA. A bucolic All American farmhouse in Pennsylvania...
Now, on to the Brandywine Trail...
Twin Brook Winery, just a hop, skip & jump from the RV park The outside of the tasting room, this is part of an 19th century farm.
The gal behind the bar was fun to chat with, we enjoyed ourselves here and bought a couple of bottles of wine... Here is one of the homes on the farm...
Pardocx Vineyard has this tasting room in a strip mall, and on weekends, the winery also has a tasting room.  We didn't realize until we got to the first winery that it was Harvest Weekend.  The wineries were all busy, but we had this tasting room all to ourselves. We had a great chat with the lady and she told us about these wines, their basic table wines, but they were out.  They sell them in paint buckets with spigots!  I want one!
Chaddsford winery... another barn and they had us going to different stations to taste the various wines.
Penns Woods  Winery, almost in the city, but just down the road. The weather was nice, we were tasting outside for this one.  The gal pouring for us was doing a great job of remembering which wine each of the different people were "at" on the list.
Va LA Winery was in a residental area. But was in a huge barn none-the-less.  Again, they had us going from station to station to try the different wines.
