How boring, another wine page... |
|
| but it wasn't boring to me to try out all the wines! I have to keep track of where I've been, this is the easiest way. This is our 16th state that we have tasted wine in. Of course I keep track... this was a short afternoon trip, very close to where we are parked, dashing between raindrops as we got out of the car and ran into the tasting rooms. Not all the wineries on the Niagara Wine Trail are open daily, some are only open for a couple of months out of the year. I did my research, looked for wines that we would enjoy tasting (and possibly buying), so here is this quick adventure. | |

| The Niagara Wine Trail has pretty good signage, but we still use our GPS ("the bitch 2") to make sure we get where we are going. | We are definitely out in the country for Niagara Landing, you can see some of their grape vines... |

| The winery/tasting room for Niagara Landing. | You get the idea of why the "Landing" part in the name, there is a small airfield across the street. You can see the top of the wings of this small plane. |

| Not only do we get to taste ($2.00 for 6 tastes, but she wasn't counting :) but we get to shop! | I loved these etched labels, I had to buy a bottle of sweet wine just so that I could get a bottle. Now I have to find someone to help me drink it! |

| More signage pointing to the next winery we are going to taste at. | Warm Lake is known for their Pinot Noir, in fact, that is all they do. |

| The winery and tasting room, not much to say about the wine. Jim was not impressed, but then he likes "our" wine bestest. ;) | Last, but definitely not least is Schulze Winery. |

The vineyards are old, many of them were planted in the 80's, but they have only been making wine since 2007. Previously they were contracting out all of their grapes. They found a good winemaker, we enjoyed many of their wines. They even had 4 different types of sparkling (and I love sparkling) wines. We bought a couple of bottles and would recommend them. The tasting room is very nice also and the help was very friendly. |
This is just the beginning of wine tasting in New York. Look for more (on a new page since we will be in a new month and new region) coming your way soon. After I thought I had finished this page, we stopped at another winery on our way back "home" as a whim since we kept passing this winery. Yeah, it wasn't in June but on July 2nd, but since it fit on this page (same wine trail), I just thought I would add it! |

| We kept passing the sign, so we decided to finally stop by... | Jim is heading into the tasting room at Honeymoon Trail. It is named for the trail that use to run through the area (Jim thought it was named that because they made sweet wine for honeymooners...). |
| Ok, now we are done tasting along the Niagara Wine Trail since we have left the area... |
